Elephants on Parade!

Click here to cue the music! Dumbo was a family favorite when our children were young; still is. I had several flannel elephant prints from other projects, and with the addition of the brightly colored print I purchased at Barbara's quilt shop in the Finger Lakes I had enough to make a baby quilt. There's no pattern. Blocks of the different fabrics are tied together with a fine yellow checked "road". It makes a kind of maze. Each print is quilted in a unique way. My inspiration was the song Pink Elephants on Parade, from Dumbo, but the sound track that played in my mind as I worked on it bounced between Baby Mine, from Dumbo and Follow the Yellow Brick Road, from The Wizard of Oz.
