3 Bears, or 5?

My granddaughter helped me make this 3 bear pillow which lives on her bed in our home. She picked out the fabrics and peeled the paper backs off the bear pieces and helped me place them before I ironed them. Then she sat on my lap and pushed the start and stop buttons while I sewed the pieces together. She's only four, but already showing sewing skills! I love this pattern. Putting together the bears is so much fun.

These are the fourth and fifth bear quilts I've made. Much of the fabrics in both these quilts are high quality soft flannel, which is so satisfying to work with and make a super soft and comfy quilt. The fabrics on the 5 Bear Family quilt tell a story; yellow represents the sun, which feeds the daisies, which feed the bees, which make honey to feed the bears. The 3 Bear Family quilt has a large purple flannel heart in the middle. I offered it in a silent auction for our church, and was delighted when a friend who was expecting a new baby grandchild won it.
